When you ask an AI a question, the way you ask it really matters. Better questions get better answers!

The difference between vague and specific

Vague: "Tell me about animals."

Specific: "Tell me three interesting facts about blue whales that I could include in a school report."

The second question tells the AI exactly what you need — a number of facts (three), what animal (blue whales), and what for (a school report). This is called a prompt.

Tips for better prompts

• Be specific. Include the details that matter to you.
• Give context. Tell the AI who you are or what you need it for. "I am 10 years old and I need this for a science project" helps a lot.
• Ask for the format you want. "Give me a list" or "explain it simply" or "make it funny" all help.
• Try again. If the first answer is not right, ask the AI to try again differently. "Can you make that simpler?" or "Can you add more detail?"

Which of these would get a better answer?

A: "Write a story."

B: "Write a short funny story (about 5 sentences) about a cat who discovers a secret door in the school library."

B is much better! It tells the AI the length, the mood, the characters, and the setting.
